McLean Mill Package

The Chase & Warren Estate Winery was established in 2003 on the south-west facing, glaciated slope that winds its way to the Alberni Canal. It is the same slope that the steam train traverses to and from the McLean Mill and it is perfect for growing selected varieties of vinifera grapes. They offer hand-crafted, natural wines that employ as few additives and preservatives as is possible in a commercial product. Their limited supply of wines made 100% from locally grown grapes sell out quickly and must be supplemented by grapes imported from the Okanogan. Their offerings this year will be Bacchus, Gewurztraminer, Beaufort Slope, Chardonnay, Bin 1, Bin2, and Pinot Noir.

Batstar Adventures Tours, in partnership with the McLean Mill National Historic Site and the Alberni Pacific Railway, offer guided bike tours. Boarding the Alberni Pacific Railway at the Train Station, guests can "Ride the Rails" to the McLean Mill, then bicycle the Log Train and other locals trails for an afternoon or whole day of fun and adventure.
